The IBM System x3650 servers and the IBM Storwize v3700 hybrid systems allow the Sokółka Okna i Drzwi company to complete the assumed business plans. The implemented technology and virtualization has given the company the new development opportunities.
“Using modern management techniques and IT technologies, we were always able to prepare the product portfolio that would correspond to the needs of our customers. To maintain the high quality of our services, we wished to modernize our IT environment,” says Grzegorz Wysocki.
The hardware infrastructure comprised of 2 machines which operated as databases and file servers. To select the offer that would fit their business profile, the company decided to look for an implementation partner who could offer the optimal solution and to implement the new infrastructure.
K3System, a company with the status of an IBM Premier Business Partner, was invited to join the project. In the first stage, the K3System has conducted a thorough analysis of our needs and has collected information regarding the parameters of the new solution. K3System has recommended virtualization and the use of IBM devices in the establishment of the new IT environment.
Sokółka Okna i Drzwi purchased 2 IBM System x3650 servers with Intel Xeon E5 processors, 128GB of RAM each and the IBM Storwize v3700 array.
The implementation works were planned and conducted within 2 days. The implementation was commenced with efficiency tests of various storage systems and machines’ efficiency configurations. Subsequently, the software and the necessary applications were installed.
The new IT environment ensures high availability of data which impact the correct functioning of business systems and guarantee the safety of the resources in possession. As a result of the implementation, Sokółka Okna i Drzwi faces decreased infrastructure maintenance costs while noting an increased efficiency of the key business processes.
